In contrast to the beneficial features of our Discharge Tubes listed above, conventional nozzles suffer from the following inherent design problems;

1)      They introduce a number of directional changes to the nitrous flow.

2)      Most nozzle designs suffer from irregular path changes and protrusions in to the flow.

3)      Most nozzles protrude in to the manifold airflow disrupting and diminishing the inlet charge.

4)      All nozzles are secured to either the head or the inlet manifold, both of which results in a large amount of heat transfer in to the nozzle body.

5)      The heat absorbed by the nozzle is transferred to the nitrous flow causing it to lose density.

6)      At the outlet of most nozzles the nitrous path takes a 90 degree bend and passes through a very thin wall through a crude hole, which causes turbulence resulting in loss of nitrous flow and density.

7)      Nozzles are designed to be fitted in a limited number of specific locations, most of which are determined by convenience for fitting, rather than for optimum performance.

8)      Once fitted, nozzles have a very limited capability to direct the nitrous discharge, which is seldom optimum.

9)      Most nozzle designs discharge the nitrous close to the manifold inner wall which creates undesirable turbulence.  


All of which sap the flow of speed, energy and density.


Both the above lengths of tube (in picture 2), are 320mm in length and are 4mm SS outside diameter tube with a 2mm inside diameter, but the tube on the right, has had the discharge end flared to enhance the flow and to maintain density, which results in more power from a given amount of nitrous oxide.
