Supply Bottle Heater Safety system [SBHS system]

Heating the supply bottle to increase the pressure differential, between it and the bottle to be filled, is the most effective and cheapest forced method of filling a vehicle's bottle. However, unless vitally important safety precautions are employed in the process, it is also potentially extremely dangerous.

The WON SBHS system provides four ways of safeguarding against user error;

1) It has a low pressure switch to prevent the heater being turned on without the bottle valve being open. If the valve wasn't open, the other safety systems couldn't detect what the bottle pressure was, so it could be over heated.

2) It has a high pressure switch that prevents the bottle from being heated too much.

3) It has an SPRV which mechanically guards against a failure of the pressure switch.

4) It has a gauge so you can see what the pressure is.

By using our SBHS system and following our instructions, (especially when also employing our additional optional extra control unit), filling using a heated supply bottle, is as safe as any other method.

3)      No compressor required

4)      No risk of pump failure

For your further information, heating the Mother bottle was the preferred method, used by the only independent gas manufacturer back when nitrous was first used in the UK on cars (Kingston Medical Gases) and is in common use today by a growing number of American's. Furthermore, the American manufacturer of the heaters does not offer any form of safety system to protect against over pressurisation and yet they have remained incident free for a number of years.
