Although the metering jets are one of the simplest components of a nitrous system, their role is the most crucial, as they determine the amount of fuel and nitrous supplied to the engine.
The size, entry shape and length of the bore through the jets determine how much flow they will deliver to the engine (from which a theoretical power figure can be calculated) and by matching a suitable fuel jet to a nitrous jet size (using a suitable ratio), the system will deliver the appropriate amounts of both fuel and nitrous, to achieve the desired power increase.
Choosing and using the correct jet sizes with the correct ratio of nitrous to fuel is essential to achieve optimum performance and engine reliability.
